Unique Group internal training was conducted in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of media and design, on 15 December 2017. The topic discussed was “Improve Your Project Management Skill”, conducted by the President of Unique Group, Mr. John Ooi CY.

John Ooi, a highly respected and experienced individual in the field of Civil Engineering and construction consulting, over 20 years of engineering and management experience. He is well versed in very aspect from conceptualization to the completion. He spent his formative years in USA before graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He started his career Malaysia where he is instrumental in managing and completing the West Port Klang Phase II, Malaysia’s largest port development.

Ever the visionary, John moved to China where he partnered with many multi-national companies such as BLUM, EMS-Chemie, LNS and Ashland. In 2010, his team was called upon to manage the development of UK Pavilion for the world expo in Shanghai which was one of the highlights in John’s illustrious career. Since 2011, Unique under John’s leadership has grown from strength to strength evidence.

In the half day program, John shared basic concepts of project management, influential factors, the management of the various stages of construction projects, the importance of leadership and other aspects, as well as the story of Unique. In the Q and A session, Mr. John provided insight on various technical and management issues.
